Where Our Story Meets Yours
From a travellers’ tale to your private villa in Kefalonia
This villa begins as a story of other people’s holidays. In the early 2000s Dina and Harshad are travel agents, sending clients to Kefalonia and hearing them come back changed.
Again and again guests describe golden beaches, bread still warm from wood ovens, and a welcome so generous it feels like kinship. One of them, a genial estate agent named Keith, speaks of pine-scented breezes and evenings that refuse to end. His tales become a refrain they cannot ignore.
In 2003 they cross the sea themselves and stay at Liakas Village. The island feels both new and familiar, as though it has been waiting. They meet Dimitri and Maria and later Maria’s father, Andreas, who shows them a hillside where olive trees hold the light like small lanterns. They decide to build on this, not a project but a home: a place where other guests might feel what they felt on that first visit.
The building is slow, shaped by patience and circumstance. Foundations are laid in 2005 and paused when Dina falls ill; restarted in 2008 when strength returns. With each stage the house gathers a little more of the island – the hush of its pines, the brightness of its mornings, the warmth of its people. By 2009 Amari Villa stands complete, its doors opening first to friends, then to guests, many of whom return year after year and speak of it as “their own resort.”Â
Now you step into that living story. Five restful bedrooms, airy salons and a private pool are framed by green terraces; beyond the gates lie beaches, coves, villages and the tavernas and small bars Dina and Harshad recommend as if to old friends. Every stay completes what they began: a home built to be inhabited by memories yet to come.
Amari means “ours,” and when you arrive it becomes yours as well. Claim your corner, pour a drink on the balcony, and watch the Ionian light change. This is your time. Make it yours.
